Teen Center Handbook
Y–Teen Center & Programs (grades 6-high school)
The Teen Center is designed to provide teens a structured place to hang out with caring adults and friends, provide tutoring during homework time, structured games activi-ties, basic health & fitness training, character develop-ment clubs & activities. Y Teen Program has 3 structured sessions; fall, winter, & spring.
Registration for Y-Teen Center & Fall Programs begin October 6th – December 19th, 2008. Pick up a Parent Handbook & information packet at the Y front desk.
Mondays & Wednesdays 2:30-8:00 PM
Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays 2:30-6:00 PM
Early Release days 1:00-6:00 PM
Non-School Days 1:00-6:00 PM
Free for Y Teen Members (Must be a Y Member)
DCY Girls Basketball Program Placement (NEW!!)
Program Placement is the DCY Girls Basketball System used to evaluate players and place them on a Traveling or League team in preparation for High School. High School & qualified Coaches will evaluate players and place them on a team that will give them the best opportunity for continued development. A parents informational meeting will run from 5:00-5:45 PM to give information and answer questions about the New DCY Girls Basketball Developmental Program.
Grades 5th - 8th Monday August 25 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Fee: $10/member $20/program participant
DCY “Intensity” Girls Basketball Developmental Program (grades 3-8)
Intensity is designed to review and develop basketball fundamentals in order to compete in Leagues & Tournaments throughout the Tri-state area & prepare girls for High School Basketball.

Y Teen Club Ignite (high school only!)
Club Ignite is a NEW Christian Based High School Night Club & Coffee Shop for High School aged teenagers.
Ignite will Kick Off on October 18th @ the Dubuque Community Y from 7:00-11:00 pm. The Club will feature a D.J., Open Gym & Sports Leagues, Open Mic Nights, Live Bands, games and activities, and a healthy alternative environment for teenagers to Hang out with community and adult volunteers.
Ignite is a free service to Dubuque Community Teens.
Beginner Blue Jays Dance and Cheer Team
(1st-8th Grade) The Blue Jays will offer opportunities to learn the fundamentals of dance and cheer. Introduction to stunts and tumbling, and community performances.
Fall Session: September 8 – November 14 (10 weeks)
Mondays & Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 PM
Fee: $40/member $80/program participant
